The British Motorcycle Charitable Trust is a Registered Charity (No. 509420), run by motorcycle enthusiasts to promote and support the preservation and restoration of our motorcycle heritage.

Our challenge is to identify and secure rare British motorcycles, ensure their restoration and make them available and accessible to the nation through a network of museums and collections.

By meeting this challenge we aim to establish and preserve a rich working record of an important cultural and sporting aspect of our industrial and engineering history. A further aspect of the work of the Trust concerns supporting and promoting education relating to our British motorcycling heritage. We enthusiastically support this objective by participating in rallies and public events – providing working exhibits and contributing expertise of our many specialist members to people seeking to learn more about these fascinating machines.

We are also delighted to offer support to educational establishments, clubs and private individuals both as an information resource, or to support special educational talks, events or programmes.

Without the work of the Trust many fine machines would be taken abroad, or into private collections – or be lost forever simply through lack of knowledge, or neglect and decay. We rely upon subscriptions, donations and bequests for our funding. If you would like to help us by making a donation, or by leaving a motorcycle, collection, or other bequest in your will, then please contact us at info@bmct.org, write to Andy Bufton at BMCT, Holly Cottage, Bishampton, Pershore WR10 2NH, or call 01386 462524.

The board of trustees is made up entirely of volunteers contributing their skills, knowledge and enthusiasm for the rich reward of seeing successful restoration projects and the preservation of our motorcycling past for the future. The current board members are:

Ian Walden OBE (Chairman) - Retired former Chief Executive of the Black Country Living Museum

Peter Wellings - Retired print & design company owner

Paul Barnes - Independent Financial Advisor

John Handley - Retired Local Government Administrator

Mike Jackson - Consultant and former owner of Andover Norton International

John Kidson  - Retired motorcycle dealer and ex TT Formula 3 World Champion

Nick Jeffery - Retired Solicitor. Committee Member of the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs

Mike Penn - Former Director of Haynes International Motor Museum

We are actively seeking to enlarge our membership with enthusiasts and collectors alike, please ask us for details of how you can support the work of the trust either actively, financially or simply as a supporting member.

Our work relies on your support and we can also offer some very attractive membership benefits.
